Our story

It started at my own kitchen table

K5 Homework Aid For Parents didn't start as a business idea. It started on an ordinary evening, helping my son with his fourth-grade homework.

I sat down expecting it to take a few minutes. It didn't.

I found myself trying to remember things I had learned a long time ago, and the way he was being taught wasn't even the way I had learned it. So I did what most parents do: I searched on Google, read through explanations, and tried to piece it all together.

By the time I understood it well enough to help, a big part of the evening was gone, and my son was still sitting there waiting.

"There must be a better way to help."

That thought stayed with me. Not a way to do the homework for him, but a way for a parent to quickly see what's right, what needs another look, and how to explain it so it makes sense to a kid.

So I acted on it. I started building the tool I wished I'd had that night: snap a photo of the finished worksheet, get the score, and get a simple explanation for anything that's off, along with a mode my son could use himself, with hints before answers.

That's how K5 Homework Aid For Parents was born.

What I set out to build

Three promises from that first night

Check, don't do

The app checks work your child has already finished. Kid Mode gives a hint and another try before any answer is revealed.

Explain it like a parent would

Plain, kid-friendly language you can use at the kitchen table, not textbook jargon.

Be honest about limits

Math is checked three ways before you see it. AI can still misread a blurry photo, so the teacher always has the final word.

Still built by one person

There's no big company behind this app, just one parent trying to make homework night easier for other families. Every message is read by the person who builds it.
